A creative GCSE Computer Science bullet journal-style review pack designed to help students reflect on their learning little and often throughout the course.
These resources are ideal for use as short plenary activities at the end of lessons, allowing students to build up a visual record of their progress over time. They can be printed and completed by hand, or annotated and coloured in digitally.
The pack includes:
• Computer Alphabet – students add key Computer Science terms or concepts for each letter of the alphabet.
• Computer Doodle – a creative page that students can annotate, colour and add notes to as their knowledge develops.
• Lesson Tracker – allows students to record the focus of each lesson, including theory, programming, exam technique, assessment, feedback and independent work.
• Programming Bingo – students tick off programming achievements such as using loops, writing subroutines, working with arrays, debugging errors and creating flowcharts.
• Programming Skills Tracker – helps students monitor their progress in areas including input/output, variables, selection, iteration, subroutines, string handling and arrays.
The resources are designed to encourage regular reflection and retrieval without taking up large amounts of lesson time. Students can spend just a few minutes at the end of each lesson updating a tracker, colouring in progress, recording a new skill or adding key knowledge.
They can be used for:
• Lesson plenaries
• Retrieval practice
• Progress tracking
• Programming skill development
• Revision
• End-of-topic reflection
• Independent study
• Building a visual record of learning
The bullet journal-inspired format makes the activities more engaging and personal than a traditional worksheet, while still encouraging students to reflect on what they have learned.
The pack is supplied in:
• PDF format for printing or digital annotation
• Editable PowerPoint format (PPTX) so teachers can adapt the resources for their own classes
Suitable for GCSE Computer Science students and adaptable for use with different exam boards.
