This Teach, Practise, Extend PowerPoint resource focuses on coordinates in the first quadrant and is linked to the Year 4 National Curriculum. In total there are five slides:
Slides 1/2/4 (teach) - Detailed teaching points of how to find and plot coordinates on a grid including how coordinates are recorded. On slide 4 an example of how to find the missing coordinateson a rectangle is explained
Slide 3/4 (practise) - Children need to identify 12 coordinates in a grid
Slide 5 (extend) - Children have to apply their new skills by finding the missing coordinates of three shapes
The resource is colourfully designed and can clearly be seen from a distance making it ideal to display on the Interactive Whiteboard and providing you with a straightforward and highly effective teaching resource. Great for a lesson starter, revision or early morning activity. It is aimed at the Year 4 maths objective but can be used at any time during KS2.
