An excellent lesson to introduce students to development. This lesson focuses on using biscuits to enforce reasons why different countries have different levels of development. This is an engaging lesson and students have a clear understanding of reasons why some countries are HIC and why some are LIC. An exam question at the end of the lesson allows students to demonstrate what they have learnt and a peer assessment activity can be used to further develop students understanding.
