Curriculum Design

To support the live application of skills through drawing workshops.

Each Session will Introduce different materials and techniques alongside drawing exercises to enable pupils to capture a variety of environments, objects, people and events.

Educational Aims

Artists gather Information and material from the world and lived experiences. These lessons will enable children to use the methods and techniques used to allow them to approach, and represent Issues, Ideas and experiences through a documentary manner.

The skills learnt within the module are relevant within Theatre, Music, Film and Fine Art.

It will enable students with a specific interest in drawing to expand their knowledge and experience of observational and on-site drawing.

The module aims to:

• Give children an understanding of the uses of drawing as a creative practice and data gathering.

• Teach appropriate material skills, techniques and processes of drawing.

• Show pupils how a sketchbook can be used to gather data from our environments through drawing.

• Development of written, oral and visual communication skills and Independent working.

• Demonstrate an ability to draw in a manner that communicates information and experiences.

• Use visual notation to respond effectively to different environments and situations.

• Communicate effectively in a range of contexts as an individual and within groups.
