IB Global Politics - Different Types of Power

A simple PowerPoint presentation that asks students to watch a pair of YouTube videos and do a short reading to learn about the different types of power: hard and soft. These terms are then debriefed with a teacher-led class discussion. Students are then asked to do a short written task that identifies a chosen news story as either hard or soft power and to explain its implications. Originally used with an IB Year 1 Global Politics class, it could be adapted for use with different curriculum, such as AP or A-Level. PowerPoint format ensures easy uploading to any VLE.
