Teacher resources for a 90 minute lesson on overruling and distinguishing in the context of the doctrine of judicial precedent. Contains a powerpoint and worksheet relating to overruling and distinguishing. Suitable for courses at level 3 including A level law, BTEC & law modules on Access to HE . There is a student copy and teacher copy of the worksheet with answers. The worksheet is designed to accompany the Youtube clip on the topic created by e-lawresources and students will need to watch the video to complete it. The 5 question starter on the power point relates to the prior lesson in this series on the hierarchy of the courts and law reporting. This can be changed if you have not yet studied this topic. The lesson should take approx 90 mins. There are suggested timings in the powerpoint at the end of the slides. There is a spare starter should you need to split into two lessons. In addition to the starter, there are 3 tasks and a plenary. Printing requirements: 1 A4 sheet double sided per student.
