This pack is a hands-on, activity-based probability resource designed for learners aged 10-14 years (Grades 5-8). It introduces probability through prediction, games, experiments, recording results and mathematical reasoning.
What the Pack Covers
- Probability Scale & Vocabulary -impossible, unlikely, equally likely, likely and certain, along with key probability terms.
- Sample Spaces & Outcomes -listing possible outcomes and calculating simple probabilities.
- Coin Flip Experiment -students conduct repeated coin tosses and compare experimental results with theoretical probability.
- Dice Data Lab -students roll a die repeatedly, record frequencies and investigate patterns.
- Spinner Challenge -students calculate theoretical probabilities and then test them experimentally.
- Card Probability -probability questions based on a standard 52-card deck.
- Counter Bag Experiment – students investigate probability through repeated draws and compare experimental and theoretical results.
- Fair or Unfair Games -students use probability to decide whether games give players equal chances.
- Design Your Own Probability Game – an open-ended activity where students create rules, calculate probabilities and evaluate fairness.
- Probability Master Challenge – mixed questions involving sample spaces, fractions, percentages and experimental probability.
Results & Reflection – students analyse experimental data and draw conclusions.
Answer Key – included for teacher/parent use.
