Brand new for 2026. This two-hour lesson covers how we can check whether news posts on social media are real or fake, why its always important to check, especially before sharing, what can happen if we don’t, and how easily social media can lead us into extremist ways of thinking.
Students will investigate a variety of news posts to assess whether they think they are real or fake, before checking them against verifiable sources, such as Full Fact, scientific research papers or official UK government data. All this information is included in an accessible, student-friendly way.
The lesson covers six different forms of extremist thought, includes clips, creative tasks, information packs, literacy guides and much more. Best suited to KS4/KS5, but nothing unsuitable for KS3. Everything is editable too.

A lot to get through but we stretched it over three hours - excellent and really does cover all bases. Do you still do the free lesson for people leaving reviews please?
