Perfect for literacy centers and easy to prep! This fun game of Rhyming Word BINGO is the perfect way to practice producing rhyme – one of the more difficult phonological awareness skills young children need to master.

Focusing on short vowel words, use this game of rhyming word BINGO to help build your children’s understanding of rhyme. Play it with your whole class or as a literacy centre activity.

To play, call out one of the 21 different calling cards for your students to try to match the rhyming word to.

For example, you might call out ‘HAT’ and on the BINGO card in front of them they might find a CAT, a MAT, a BAT or a RAT. All would be a correct answer. With only six words to match on each card, your students won’t be overwhelmed while trying to identify the rhyming word.
