A very useful worksheet for grade 7+ students.

This topic has been in every GCSE paper from all boards since the introduction of the 9 - 1 exam.

This PDF consists of 26 questions on solving a pair of simultaneous equations - one linear and one quadratic - resulting in a quadratic equation and hence two points of intersection.
All questions have been carefully worked out to give integer answers and none of the resulting quadratics are ‘ugly’.

I recently added a second set of questions on where a line crosses a circle - focusing on one, two or zero solutions and their interpretation.
