A Tarsia activity on solving equations. These type of activities can be used to consolidate understanding of a given topic, and foster positive group work and co-operative learning. This is an excellent tarsia for solving one and two step equations with a few quadratics and cubics thrown in there too. There is only one solution to each question which is obtained by rearranging. This would make an excellent consolidation activity before going onto equations with unknowns on each side. These types of puzzles allow students to work in groups and allow you to listen into their discussion which is great. Thank you for sharing.
