This scheme of learning is suitable for KS3 art textiles and D&T students as a 12 week scheme which can easily be adapted to suit longer time frames.
Students will learn:
- How to gather inspiration from a culture and use this respectfully within their work
- How to be inspired by the work of others
- How woven fabrics are constructed
- How to design for a purpose
- To create a final outcome of a weaving- this can be made as a standalone art piece or could be adapted to become a coin purse or pouch.
Please note that this project is intended to be completed using weaving looms but is also suitable for working on handmade simple cardboard looms.
