This resource is designed to offer Key Stage 1 children an introduction to global cultures through the lens of clothing and diversity.
Children can talk about the colour pictures of people from around the world, explore the traditional dress and reflect on how relevant these may be today. Children can discuss continuity and change.
There is a planning table with 4 lessons including objectives, resources needed and step by stop instructions.
There are 18 colour pictures and matching black and white versions for children to colour in.
Each lesson encourages children to participate actively through colouring, storytelling, crafting, and designing.
By exploring traditional dress from various countries, children will learn about different styles and purposes of clothing but also develop an appreciation for cultural diversity.
This approach fosters respect and curiosity about the world around them helping children to build a foundation of inclusivity and global awareness.
