The aim of this series of resources, which will span Comp 1-Comp 2 as well as all the forms in the exam, is to create self-contained units of study for teachers and pupils alike. The term ‘Bolt On’ refers to teachers who have taught the AS version of the course and come Year 13, need to revisit each form adding on/bolting on the 10 theories students would not have learned in Year 12 along with forms they would not have studied. This is a great resource for assessing retained learning of students from Year 12 whilst adding in new content and promotes Mastery and Spiral Learning.

This ‘Kiss of the Vampire’ unit is designed to be taught at the start of Year 13 and equates to around a TRIPLE’S worth of teaching. Due to the time restrictions upon teaching the AS and A-Level as separate/ non-linear, I have tried to focus on ‘All killer, no filler’ lessons that assess retained learning whilst building upon it with new theories and content.

**This unit is perfect for consolidating knowledge and contains everything needed for A2 Component 1, SEC A. The content attached can be delivered in a TRIPLE or just under.

This unit covers of all Media LanguagE and Representation and includes:

-Get the drop on the examiner: An in-depth and challenging assessment of retained knowledge from Year 12 with regards to ‘KOTV’.
-Contextual slides to remind students of key contextual elements.
-Media theory checklist for Media Language and Representation with tailored to tasks to solidify existing knowledge and build upon it with new knowledge.
-Differentiated slide for each of the A2 theories needed for ‘KOTV’ at the end of the Power Point should you as a teacher want to revisit a theory with the students.
-Assessment and Exam practice tasks and resources
-Unseen text analysis (Print and moving image.

**IMPORTANT: Some tasks and/or H/W’s require either the AS, Year 1 and/or A2, Year 2 EDUQAS Revision Guides.
**
NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies at a AS/A2 Two- Year Course. If you liked this resource and found it useful, it would be greatly appreciated if you could feedback or rate my resource as I am constantly trying to adapt and refine my resources to improve the learning of my students. Many thanks.
