Near future holiday plans

Near future holiday plans

Made for a MA/LA French GCSE group using elements from the Edexcel textbooks. Building on using 'je vais' and destination countries with the correct preposition, this series of lessons introduces the use of the near future tense in a controlled way. It worked well and provided lots of opportunities to test and develop prior learning, leading to a paragraph with 2 tenses.

Holidays and the conditional tense

Holidays and the conditional tense

A whole lesson on the topic of holidays (can easily take 2 lessons) This is differentiated throughout: Categorise cards in the right column (cut out, laminate, give students to arrange under the right tense) This task will allow students to revise the present, perfect and the future tense. (differentiated three times, use of colour for weaker students, use of the first person narrative (plural ) for higher ability students. A slide aimed at questioning students on their knowledge of the tenses. Higher order questioning will be rewarded with more vivos. Then students will independently research the new vocabulary for the lesson. Stick all pictures given around the classroom, put some music on and leave students to find the meaning of the vocabulary with a dictionary and with the support of the visual cues. Feedback on vocabulary, students mark their work Quick slide on the conditional tense endings for verbs finishing with er, ir and re Matching task (print, laminate and cut out pictures and translations), students match the pictures to the correct translations) Snakes and ladders to reinforce the vocabulary used (differentiated), one with the first letters of each words used in the matching task , another snake and ladders with no vocabulary support Finally a vocabulary mat given for weaker students with all vocabulary seen in this lesson. Extension task/reading activity Peer assessment

This is a 25% sample of my very popular resource. The full resource can be found by searching for '300 generic lesson activities'. (Following its success in the summer sale, I have kept the sale price of £3). The description for the full file is as follows: Create lessons in seconds with this HUGE PowerPoint of animated lesson activities. There are HUNDREDS of templates that you can over-type in seconds to create engaging lesson material. Highly praised by John Simpkin of Spartacus Educational and Mark Warner of Teaching Ideas. I am very confident you will like this. If you do, please click on my profile to see my other popular resources. Thanks (This file also has a bank of PowerPoint timers) The size of the file should show you how much stuff there is! Without sounding overly confident - it's the best resource out there! Many thanks Copyright T.Taylor
