Reflexive verbs in the perfect tense

Reflexive verbs in the perfect tense

PowerPoint presentation on reflexives in the perfect tense. I had covered ‘avoir’ verbs and ‘être’ verbs before doing this with the class. It’s aimed at the class contributing and predicting a lot of it as we go along, because my class already knew how ‘être’ verbs worked and the only new addition to their prior knowledge was the reflexive pronoun, which they had done in the present tense already. This was used with a credit class in S4 in the Scottish system.

Personal Pronouns rap !

Personal Pronouns rap !

I usually get my students to repeat the personal pronouns in English and in French to a rhythm (pat pat clap clap) to get them to remember what they are and the order they are in. However my Y8 this year have no sense of rhythm and it was a disaster. One of them, though, said Miss, you should record it. So blame him ! The lyrics are (unsurprisingly) I you he she we you they, Je tu il elle nous vous ils elles The idea is that they listen and then repeat. This is my first attempt at something like this - hope you like it !

Verb Conjugation: Notes, Example, & Game

Verb Conjugation: Notes, Example, & Game

Designed with Smartboard Notebook software, this lesson is both for note taking AND manipulation of verb stems, ending and subject pronouns. It also includes a game at the end Quel Desastre! where students need to totally unscramble all the components involved in regular verb conjugation. One student goes up to the board and when they exhaust their understanding, they call on a class mate saying, J’ai besoin d’assistance! Game can be made more difficult by making all components the same color.
