AQA GCSE FRENCH (new spec) Foundation Tier Reading - Les nouvelles technologies

AQA GCSE FRENCH (new spec) Foundation Tier Reading - Les nouvelles technologies

Wanting more examples of specimen reading papers for the new AQA spec, I decided to start writing my own. This first reading practice paper is based entirely on the subject of new technology and it comes with an answer template so that you can cut down on photocopying. Please let me know what you think. I do plan to write more papers based on single topics as well as a mixture of topics like in the real exam.

Specimen 2018 AQA GCSE French Foundation Reading (Answer template)

Specimen 2018 AQA GCSE French Foundation Reading (Answer template)

Because school budgets are so tight these days, I thought it would be a good idea to create one single sheet for my students to write their answers to the 2018 specimen AQA GCSE French reading papers. That way I can re-use the actual test paper with all subsequent classes and cut down massively on photocopying. Also, needing more examples of specimen reading papers for the new spec AQA, I have started to write my own. The first one is now available and it covers entirely the topic ‘Les nouvelles technologies’.

Claim the parcel translation game Mes loisirs New GCSE Studio AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Mes loisirs New GCSE Studio AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Activity for revising different verb tenses and topics from new GCSE AQA books. You have a table with different verbs tenses/sentences and project it on your interactive whiteboard/wall. In groups of 2 (max 3) they write the answer in French to one of the parcels/boxes on their mini white boards, come to you at the front of the class (you check) and if they have the answer correct they can claim the parcel/box. You write their names/team name on a post it notes and stick it over the parcel/box on the interactive whiteboard. Then, no one can do this parcel/box anymore. The winner is the group to have most parcels/boxes claimed at the end. Works well as end of module revision or translation practice. Don't forget to feedback!

French - Advantages & disadvantages of social media

French - Advantages & disadvantages of social media

On the first slide, in line with the GCSE speaking photo card, pupils give sentences about the picture. This is an introduction to the topic of the advantages and disadvantages of social media. On the following slide, phrases have been taken from a text about social media. Students decide whether the statements are advantages or disadvantages. Students then use mini whiteboards to recap the vocab. To finish, students challenge each other for the next lesson. They all write a phrase from this lesson on a Post-It and stick it to the back wall. These are then randomly given out to the students as a starter in the following lesson to be translated.
