https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/eurovision-2023-liverpool-uk-ukraine-mfl-bundle-french-and-spanish-12838897
Resources that can be used for a lesson or two on Eurovision for both Spanish and French classes. Would work particularly well with Y9 and GCSE to get them using more interesting opinions but can be adapted for any year really. It’s good to use for Media/Culture topic (Music) and for writing with opinions. Tasks are differentiated throughout. I have used a variation of this resource many times over the last few years and just changed it each year to make it up to date, it has always gone down really well with students!
Resources include:
Powerpoint
Sweepstake of countries to cut out
Countries match-up (English to Spanish/English to French)
Writing Table (optional - students can also do the writing task in their exercise books)
Activities include:
Sweepstake - students to follow their selected country for homework
Countries match up Spanish-English
Eurovision facts and figures match-up
Quiz about Italy (host country)
Interesting linguistic fact followed by linguistic exploration of Cuban slang (This year’s entry for Spanish was born in Cuba) OR of Breton language (this year’s entry for France is from Brittany)
Chance to listen/watch each song entry, students can give each performance a mark out of 12, and then do writing practice using opinions.

Great bundle for back to school in September, get those kids motivated right from the get go!
A trio of Powerpoint presentations giving reasons why French, Spanish and languages in general are important and a good subject for students to learn. Good to use at the start of the year and to help with motivation.
