For the first time, AQA GCSE Music students are faced with the ‘extended response’ which can be out of the comfort zone for both them and teachers alike. The 2-mark questions rely on student’s general knowledge of the background to The Beatles Sgt Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band, plus some details on instrumentation, elements and use of technology. The Musical Mind Melter Quiz has been designed by experienced music teacher Dan Barrow, specifically for your needs! Nine rounds, fully contained within one huge 40-minute video (but also available as separate videos) which can be run on a whiteboard, on student devices, student PCs or remotely. Teachers can run the quiz as they want, or simply press play and sit back! The rounds are audio-based, packed with 161 audio extracts, including Beat The Intro ('90s, '00s, '10s and '20s), Stuck In Reverse, Slo-Mo, Double Trouble (2 tracks at the same time), a Disney Villains round and a special ‘Rick-Rolling’ one too! The quiz can be taken on paper, typed into a Google Doc or on a self-marking Google Quiz, and there’s even a video with all the answers.
