I have ten years experience as an HLTA in a primary school, primarily working with Year 6. Over the years, I have created a bank of resources which I hope may prove useful to others as time savers.

Greek God and Goddesses Wordsearch

(0)
A wordsearch containing names of Greek Gods and Goddesses. Suitable for Upper KS2 and above. See also creative writing narrative - 'A Greek Myth - Re-imagined’A Greek Myth. Here is the link: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12785092 Whilst studying Greek myths with Year 5, their task was to write their own version of a Greek myth, using a hero and a monster of their choice. Working with a small group, I created my own Greek myth with the characters of Theseus and the monster Hydra to use as an example of how a myth could be re-imagined – modelling some of the descriptive language and grammatical features and structure that they could use in their own story. This could be used for pupils as an example of how to create their own version of a Greek myth. Suitable for KS2 - particularly Year 5 and Year 6.

Collection of Mini Cross Stitch Motifs on Binca KS2/KS1

A fun set of mini cross stitch pattern motifs to use with KS2 pupils, although they may be suitable for upper years of KS1 also. I have designed and completed many cross stitch projects with KS2 pupils. However, many of the simpler motifs could be suitable for Upper KS1. **There are 20 motifs included in the pack. ** The patterns are all pdfs. They are included in a zip file. Please unzip to access. Patterns included: Ship; Globe; Magnifying glass with bug (science); Football; Computer screen; Abc/123/Maths symbols; Sport trophy; Christmas Tree; Holly; Books; Art; Music; Butterfly; Crown; Bee; Union Flag; Umbrella; Heart. The motifs range from those which are very simple to complete to others which have more detail to them. All are quick to sew. Most motifs are approximately 8cm - 10cm (3”- 4”). . Each cross on the pattern = one cross stitch. There is also a sheet which contains photos of all the finished motifs as guidance. The patterns are stitched on 6 count binca material using 6 strands of thread at a time (to create sufficient thickness) and obviously can be completed in any colour combinations. All lettering on the motifs is completed in back stitch. The borders can be cross stitched, a simple back stitch or left blank. I have also included a sheet containing basic ‘how to’ cross stitch/back stitch instructions. The pack represents good value for money as the motifs are varied and can be used for many different occasions – or just for fun – individually or part of a larger project. A great time saver. I hope your pupils enjoy cross stitching!**
