Here are student sheets for each of the Combined Science trilogy, chemistry 9-1 AQA required practicals. Each sheet is purposefully skeletal, to allow students to complete work alongside a practical, with a rough structure. Each sheet also has a FAR sheet, which can be used to mark the students work (best used after the theory then practical) Each marking sheet includes a past paper question and it’s mark scheme. In total, 6 RP sheets & 6 marking sheets.

Neutralisation, pH & Strong and weak acids

(0)
A fully resourced lesson which can include practical, or the use of a video/simulator to replace that, should you not be able to do the prac. The lesson recaps key making salts content in form of knowledge retrieval quiz & DIRT, before moving onto key terminology recaps and reference to Ionic equations to describe acids and alkali, and comparing strong to concentrated. The lesson lends itself to carrying out a titration and producing a pH curve from this. There are then past paper questions to complete and self assess

This folder contains 3 levels of sheet which are designed for revision or intervention style lessons. All 3 are the same besides the application questions. Suggested use. - Print double sided. Students complete the knowledge quiz in silence, this is to assess current knowledge, and then peer/self assess this with teacher support. Students then have short period of teacher talk/discussion time to work through the placemat, you may include use of own revision resources/text books/ teacher modeling etc. Students complete past paper questions firstly in exam conditions, and then using peer discussion or text book/revision guide support. The aim is that all students gain the base knowledge overview from the KQ & the placemat before applying to varying levels of challenge Past papers. Sheets are targeted to 1-3 grades, 4/5 and 6+ HT grades. More to follow, feedback welcome!
