I have been a singing and music teacher for twenty years and, although there are some amazing resources out there, sometimes I wanted something slightly different. So, I started creating my own and have listed some of them here. Enjoy!

Working out a major key from the key signature with flats - worksheet

(0)
A worksheet to help students work out a major key from the key signature with flats. I would use this following on from my PowerPoint Identifying a major key from the key signature - sharps and flats. There is also worksheet for major keys with sharps, available separately on TES. This can be used in classroom lessons or individual music theory lessons for the Grade 5 ABRSM music theory exam.

Chords worksheet - Root position chords

(0)
Basic worksheet with answers about root position chords. This is the first of four worksheets that accompanies my PowerPoint on chords and is ideal for those starting out in music theory. It could also be used as a homework sheet.

How to work out melodic minor keys - worksheet

(0)
Worksheet showing how to work out melodic minor keys from their relative majors, includes answers. I use this sheet following the relevant pages of my PowerPoint on ‘Minor keys - Relative minors, forming harmonic and melodic minor keys’, also available on TES individually and as a lesson bundle. This can be used in classroom lessons or individual music theory lessons for the Grade 5 ABRSM music theory exam.

Grid to work out chords and inversions

(0)
This is a grid I have created to help work out chords and inversions. There is an explanation and example on one sheet and some blank grids on the other. This can be used in conjunction with my other resources on chords and music theory or as a stand alone resource.
