Type in a word/phrase it the TL on one line and then the equivalent in English opposite it (as in the example). Do this within each inner section and then cut it up into cards. Pupils must then form a triangle with the cards by matching the TL to the English. Instructions are in the notes section of the PPT. It's worth Googling 'Tarsia puzzles'!

Template for the popular 'Quiz-Quiz-Trade' activity. Students each have a small piece of paper/card with a phrase in TL and its translation underneath. Students mill around the room, when they ‘bump’ into someone student A will say their phrase in TL and student B has to translate (quiz). The same happens with student B’s card (quiz). If both students translate each other’s card correctly they trade, hence the quiz-quiz-trade. To add an element of competition, ask the students to count the amount of times they exchanged and give a prize / raffle ticket / house point to the winner.

Use this PPT to talk about healthy eating. The food triangle demonstrates how much of each food group should be consumed. There are examples of each food group, approximate quantities and a match-up activity.

I use this as a starter activity. Without showing this slide or telling pupils what they will be doing, ask them to write 5 words from the topic they did last lesson. Don’t mention anything about points, etc. After they’ve written the words, show them this slide and tell them to award the points for each letter of each word and then a total for all words. If you want to, tell them (for example) that each accent doubles the value of its letter. It’s a simple and competitive activity.

Very simply, a template for pupils to use to write about a week. They write the text in the lower box and draw a picture in the bigger box.

Add the first letters of words in a phrase, images or words. In teams (red and blue), pupils aim to make a continuous line of their colour horizontally. When they have chosen a hexagon and have answered correctly, click on that hexagon to change it to the team colour.

When you click on the red line underneath a letter (if it’s correctly guessed), it will reveal the letter. In this presentation, the German direction phrases are pre-populated, which you will see when you open the presentation. To reveal the whole answer, click on “Reveal”. If the letter is wrong, click on one of the sections of the ‘hangman’ to the left. It will then turn red.

Pupils each have a copy of this sheet. In pairs, they must point to one of the adjectives, choose someone who has that character trait and then give a sentence in French.
