A simple script for learning outcome 1.3. I used this as a morning settling-in game.

Set of eight cards to laminate and cut out. Include visuals for prompting. Informal conversation starters for students to have on Mondays after the weekend. I usually have a set for each pair to take turns asking each other about their weekend.

Diary Writing or Comic Strip Writing lesson, includes worksheet and stills from the film for students to sequence if they require the support or choose to make the comic strip option. For some very low ability SEN students, they have simply selected a still from the film and written a sentence about it/told an adult about that part of the film. Very diverse uses for this resource over the years! Video is easy to find on youtube.

Two picture recipes for SEN learners for flapjacks and rice krispie buns for use over two lessons. There are 3 worksheets to go with the recipes. Pre-teaching taste/texture vocab is on the first worksheet, then students go to cook their recipe, review the vocabulary sheet after cooking and students use this and the other worksheet to give opinions. Can be used for measurement, temperature in Numeracy and Giving Opinions and reading instructions in Literacy). Learning Outcome codes marked on worksheets.

Three different menus with a worksheet to go with each. Students read menus and select the items they would like to buy. There is a bonus question around working out change. One activity involves making change from €50, another from €20 and another from €10 so that you can differentiate within your class.

Teacher notes: We had a week where we practised making phonecalls to different kinds of businesses. I printed out these cards out and students wrote on them in whiteboard markers. This meant they could be swapped around day-to-day so students did different ones each day of that week.
