Learners will use the worksheet to describe how their book’s character is feeling by drawing the emotion on the emoji’s face. Following this, they will write down as many adjectives as they can think of, around the emoji, which describe these feelings.

32X cards that can be used to revise figurative language / persuasive language techniques including: Similes Metaphors Alliteration Onomatopoeia Idiom Oxymoron Sarcasm Irony Direct Address Facts Opinions Rhetorical Question Repetition Emotive Language Statistics Triples ( Rule of Three) There are statements on 2X cards each, which use one of the techniques above. These cards were created so that my learners could play a ‘match a pair’ game. Turn all of the cards over on the table. Get the learners to take it in turns to turn over two cards, if the statements match the technique then they ‘win’ that pair of cards. If they don’t match, then they turn them back over and another player gets to choose two cards. Continue until all the cards are matched. These can also be used as flash cards or revision cards and the cards are double sided, with a colourful polka dot design on the opposite side. Also attached, are a set of cards ( buyer to cut out) with each of the following persuasive devices names written on them. You can get your learners to place the correct statement cards under each of these headings.

An English Reading Comprehension Activity. This resource gives the learner an overview The English National Football Team. They will then be asked to answer 10 skimming and scanning questions based on the document and an extension question. Answers are provided so that learners can self mark.

2X A3 two page revision planners: English Language & English Literature. This revision planner will help students in preparation for their exams. Get your students to laminate their planner and stick it on their wall.

An A3 PDF Revision Sheet. A resource to use as your class reads through the novel. After each chapter, get your learners to write a short summary of that chapter. This can be useful for when for when learners need to revise the novel and the key scenes.

Report Writing Task. The learner has a report writing task to complete. They can plan and format their report correctly by using the included report writing template.

I created this task for the Poetry Anthology revision lesson. The learners were asked to write a short summary of each of the fifteen poems and write a short overview of the context of that poem on the back of the card.
