Lesson objectives: Understand the interlinking relationship and interdependency between sport, commercialisation/sponsorship and the media Identify the positive and negative impacts of the media on sport Explain, using examples how media can negatively impact upon sport. This resouce includes interactive activities for students to engage with and also has answers on slides that follow each task. Key terminology is highlighted and defined throughout.

Lesson objectives: Understand the social and psychological reasons behind elite performers using illegal drugs and doping methods to aid performance. Explain the physiological effects of drugs on the performer and their performance. Be aware of the positive and negative implications to the sport and the performer of drug taking. Outline various strategies for the elimination of performance-enhancing drugs in sport and develop the ability to present arguments for and against drug taking and testing in sport. This bundle consists of a 2 powerpoint lessons (one 32 slide long lesson powerpoint and one 19 slide ppt) and also contains two supporting worksheets that allow students to concisely detail the different PEDs, using examples and the reasons why performers take PEDs.

This lesson ppt starts off with a recap task of AVO2 Diff, then goes on to explore the impacts of physical activity on an individual’s health including the following key areas: coronary heart disease (atheroma, atherosclerosis. angina) high blood pressure explained cholesterol explained (LDL AND HDL) strokes explained (ischaemic and haemorrhagic) There is also a link to a kahoot quiz that I have created that is a good progress check to see how much of the CV system your students have understood and learned!
