Presented by Robert Reich, the U.S. Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton, the film examines how increasing wage inequality leads not only to economic suffering as demand falls, but also how it threatens American democracy itself. The film is good viewing for students in high school courses covering economics, government, or 20th century American history. It fits well into the latter classes because Reich provides an analysis of how top tax rates during the 20th century tended to either increase or decrease levels of inequality, depending on how the top tax rate was set.
