Help your students as you approach the component 3 level 2 exam by using a whole class feedback approach to completing an exam paper. This activity provides a brand new case study and questions based on ‘Dara’. The package also comes with a whole class feedback sheet so that you can address strengths and misconceptions quickly when only marking a small sample of work. This has been an effective way of working through questions that my group have struggled with whilst still utilizing the holistic structure of the exam paper.

Lessons covering unit 10 BTEC National Level 3 Pass 1- Sociological terms and concepts. Each lesson covers a separate sociological term and links this to health and social care. This session focuses on developing student abilities to achieve marks in the higher mark bands by developing actions and targets. Pre-planned differentiated questions are included on the slides. Revision lesson focusing on answering question 3 of the component 3 exam for the Tech Award. This lesson develops student understanding of data and how to interpret it and then moves on to look at how to effectively answer question 3. The main aim of the lesson is to push students on from achieving around 4/12 marks to 8-12/12 by increasing the detail of their answer and their analaysis skills. Differentiated resources included for lower ability students and challenge tasks to stretch higher attaining students.

Three lessons and coursework structure covering the health models section of unit 10. Power points include short model examples of coursework. The coursework structure has clear sections demonstrating the different criteria to students.

A much more interactive and accesible approach to community change. This is an activity to do over a 4-6 week period with y9-10, classes can be mixed ability although I have aimed it at the lower section of the cohort. The booklet outlines all the tasks that students will need to do to propose a community/school change, design a campaign and take action. This activity covers the strands of community participation, advocacy and representation.

Disability, Equality. This lesson and power point introduces the idea of disability to students. Different types of disability are explored and also students are asked to begin to think about their own attitudes and understanding.

Ethnic attainment, Ethnicity, Education. Power points detailing the impacts of inside and outside of school factors that impact on ethnic minority groups in education. Includes theories.

Lesson and activities for a starter lesson to beging the family topic. Looks at the difference between families and households.

This is a tutorial power point, with interactive opportunities with a supporting note sheet for the class to fill in during the presentation. The power point looks at why sampling is important, the problems it faces and types of sampling methods.

'Who is responsible' is for teaching in lesson one where the students explore reasons why people blame the victim for rape. Responsibilities is for the second case. It is a fictional rape case that offers various mediums of evidence to the group. Pupils can work through this individually or in a group to come to a conclusion as to who was responsible if it was rape at all. Note there are no correct answers to this! This can take an hour lesson is pupils are expected to write a critical answer.

A lesson which covers a number of health and social care job roles and how they contribute to the response to Coronavirus. I have planned this to teach to the students who will be remaining in school during the closures but it could also be set as a task for students who are at the start of their health and social care study. The lesson therefore doesn’t meet a scheme of learning but will be a good discussion opportunity. Lessons are differentiated by outcome and may need further differentiation by resource depending on your student group. I have tried to keep it simple at this point so that it can be adapted to different year groups.
