Resources for 2+ lessons which outlines STM and LTM memory (capacity, coding, duration) as well as research into these. The first lesson includes a powerpoint ('coding and capacity') and handouts ('jacobs and baddeley' and 'evaluation grid P,E,E'). The second lesson includes a powerpoint 'duration of STM and LTM' and handout 'research duration of STM and LTM' The powerpoints have a number of activities embedded. The lessons are excellent for student engagement with both of them requiring students to be active participants in experiments to replicate many of these studies.

A lesson which outlines and evaluate types of Long-Term Memory (semantic, episodic and procedural). There are a range of suggested activities including some independent work summarising the types of LTM, a comparison task, and an evaluation task where students are given the 'evidence' but need to consider what the point and explanation might be. Finally there is an application style exam question.

The lesson requires students to summarise the WMM with a framework to structure their notes. The powerpoint includes an application style question for students to apply their knowledge of WMM. Finally there is a question and answer loop to review WMM which might be used as a handout or the questions/answers displayed around the classroom as a kind of 'treasure hunt' activity.

There are powerpoints and appropriate handouts for 2 one hour lessons. The first to outline and apply knowledge of MSM and the second to evaluate MSM. This is a 1-2 hour lesson which should help students outline Asch's original study and 3 variations (group size, unanimity and task difficulty) as well as to evaluate Asch. This includes a powerpoint and a student handout/worksheet which provides them with key information and activities to complete during the lesson. A powerpoint which outlines how to evaluate research studies using the mnemonic GRAVE (generalisability, reliability, application, validity (internal and ecological) ethics. This powerpoint defines each of the key terms as well as examples (and/or mini discussion activities) of each of these to develop students understanding of these concepts. The lesson ends with a review of other research methods (sampling techniques, design types, experimental types etc) using a 'you say we pay' style game. This is where one student stands with their back to the board and the class describe the key terms to them.

A brief powerpoint and matching task to enable students to be aware of the key roles of social care professionals including social workers, youth workers, support workers, care assistant and care manager

Students will be able to outline and evaluate the theory of sexual selection. This includes 2 powerpoints (one which outlines the theory and the other that evaluates the theory). There are a number of activities embedded. The final activity requires students to have access to page 119 of the green hair girl book (research methods application questions)

A lesson to outline psychodynamic approach. This includes a powerpoint, short video and handout to help students understand the influence of the unconscious mind, psychosexual stages, 3 parts of personality and ego defence mechanisms. There is a mixture of teacher led and student led activities. Access to the internet is recommended for a small section of the lesson but this could easily be copied & printed for students.
