Hi, my name is Rachel; I have been teaching for 14 years in a diverse range of contexts. My learning areas are the Arts and Humanities, from KS1 (Kindergarten) through to KS3 (Year 12). I have curriculum leadership experience within the IPC, ACARA, IGCSE, QCE and VCE. Throughout my career I have taught in complex low socio-economic settings through to academic international schools so prioritise differentiation within my planning. Enjoy these resources!

Surviving the Biomes

This sequence consists of three lessons designed to fully engage students in the world and teach them about Biomes. Lesson 1- Biome locations and features. Designed to launch students into learning about Biomes. In this lesson students will learn how biomes are classified and where they are in the world. Lesson 2 & 3- The game. Students will become contestents in a reality survival TV series designed to test their knowledge of a specific Biome in order to survive the conditions. Students will be given the resources and time to plan their approach before the teacher leads students through situations designed to test their research! This lesson sequence works best when students have access to devices.
