Do Now:
Learners are to find the words in the wordsearch. Then, they are to translate the words that they know and predict the ones they don’t know using their knowledge of cognates.
Choral repetition games: Splat, Beat the Teacher, Guess the correct image, have a pronunication competition between both sides of the classroom.
Matching-up task: Students are to match the Spanish with the English.
Video: Students are to watch the video on the Day of the Dead traditions and customs and are to answer the questions in English.
Students will then have a copy of the transcript for their reference.
Independent Work:
Exercise 1: Students are to match the words (Spanish with the English).
Exercise 2: Students are to translate the sentences into English.
Exericse 3: Students are to translate the sentences into Spanish.
Exercise 4: Students are to write four sentences in Spanish using the vocabulary from this lesson.
