This resource contains over 60 Power Point slides including varied activities, text, photos and illustrations on the topic of Spanish Festivals and Celebrations, with a focus on la Feria de abril de Sevilla, los Carnavales de Cádiz and los San Fermines de Pamplona. There are also notes on some national stereotypes, linked to the use of the verbs ‘saber’ and ‘conocer’. Task types include: multiple choice questions, quizzes, translating, matching up, filling the gaps and many prompts for speaking.

The main outcome is to learn facts, vocabulary and phrases related to the topic, as part of the Customs and Festivals section of the GCSE syllabus, with an emphasis on building up speaking skills. Tasks vary in complexity and are grouped correspondingly into different Key Stages (KS3, KS4 and KS5). This is, thus, an ideal resource for Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 students.

The slides are carefully designed, user-friendly and visually attractive. The tasks are interactive and many lend themselves well to pair work, both in person and online. The teacher may use the visual aids and text boxes in each slide to modify the tasks or add new ones as they see fit.
