World Braille Day is held each 4th of January, and in honour of its inventor, Louis Braille, this worksheet is designed to support awareness raising in French lessons.

Four short French texts are presented on the life and works of Louis Braille, along with vocabulary support and reading comprehension questions for each one.

The language level is around A2 on the CEFR scale (ideal for a proficient Year 7 and Years 8/9), with the narrative purely in the historic present tense, as well as plenty of cognates designed to encouraging gist-reading longer texts.

A third page including suggested model answers is supplied.
