This is a medium term plan for Year 4, based on Rainforests, in particular the Amazon Rainforest.

National Curriculum links: Extend knowledge and understanding to include North America and the location and characteristics of the world’s most significant human and physical features. Locate the world’s countries and concentrate on their environmental regions. Identify the position and significance of the Equator, Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere and the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Understand aspects of physical geography including climate zones and biomes. Starting to consider natural resources such as food and water. Use maps, atlases and digital/computer mapping to locate countries.
