This pp presentation is a great resource for meeting a new class, exploring symbolism, and understanding the numerous uses for art. It explains how artists and people interested in art can use art, from expressing feelings to understanding the zeitgeist of the time in which a painting was created. It can be used in both KS 3 and 4. Also very useful for a new teacher getting to know the students and their interests. It encourages interactions between students as it enables students to ask questions about each other and make links from one persons hobby.interest to another. From a design aspect it highlights the evolution of ideas, through colour, form, concepts, texture.materials or however else the student manages to link one idea to another. It incorporates colour, movement, shapes and drawing skills. The outcomes are limitless. At the end of the activity the work can be displayed around the room with the ideas and themes linked and placed side by side.
