This Key Stage 3 Computer Science resource has been carefully designed to support high-quality teaching in the context of the ongoing shortage of specialist Computer Science teachers. The topic focus is Computer Systems**, covering key areas such as Storage, how a CPU works, software and hardware, and input and output devices.
The content is presented through an engaging, age-appropriate theme that is specifically chosen to capture students’ interest and maintain their attention throughout the lessons. Each presentation is structured to build understanding step by step, with regular recall questions embedded throughout, enabling students to write their responses in an exercise book and strengthen retrieval of prior learning. To further support assessment and reduce teacher workload, each topic also includes corresponding multiple-choice questions that help teachers quickly check student progress, identify misconceptions, and monitor understanding as students work through the unit.
If these are successful and depending on feedback I can develop further similar resources to engage students across the computer science curriculum.
