Multiplying Menace - Maths Storybook Lesson (UKS2)

Want to introduce your students’ to multiplying fractions with whole numbers? This lesson with supporting resources for Years 5 & 6, accompanies the Maths picture book ‘Multiplying Menace - The Revenge of Rumplestiltskin’ by Pam Calvert, and looks at multiplying whole numbers by unit fractions.

A fun, practical fusion of reading comprehension and Maths, the children will be super engaged with this hands-on and practical investigation into multiplying by fractions. A fun activity where students go on a scavenger hunt to help save the school from Rumplestiltskin’s curses; this lesson gives the opportunity to extend learning outside of the classroom and apply to real-world problem solving.
