28 numeracy worksheets with structured three-part lesson plans in a 73-page PDF for KS3 students developing basic numeracy skills. Includes general guidance, seven supporting appendices, speed-test grids and answer pages.
Lessons build mental and written calculation skills through addition, subtraction, place value, complements to 100, doubling and halving, multiplication, division, problem-solving, written methods, remainders, checking answers, odd and even numbers, and calculator use.
Each plan sets out a starter, main activity and plenary, with timings, resources, key vocabulary and extension ideas. The publication recommends using the lessons in sequence, particularly with small groups working individually or in pairs.
This is the original 2001 publication, written around the historical Year 7 Numeracy Framework and National Numeracy Strategy. Its level and curriculum references are retained; no alignment with current curriculum requirements is claimed. Classroom equipment such as digit cards, dice, counters and calculators may be needed as specified in the plans.
