Used in Y1 with low ability children, each lesson focuses on a sound, harder to read and spell words and reading.
e.g. ‘ure’ children start by guessing the sounds from pictures. (Each day has a mystery sound) Then, writing words with the sound in, decoding alien words and finally reading a text to spot the sounds.
Used as an intervention before the check, small groups and whole class!
