This is an GCSE lesson on the biotic and abiotic relationships in a tropical rainforests (TRFs) as well as plant and animal adaptations in TRFs. It is suitable for all specification but specifically designed for the Edexcel B specs, Paper 3; Forests under Threat. Key facts about the lesson are:

  1. The content covered by the lesson are; Recap of the nutrient cycle. Definition and examples of biotic and abiotic features in a TRF. Biotic and abiotic interdependency in a TRF. Biodiversity in TRF. Plant and animal adaptations in a TRF.

  2. Learning resources used in the lesson are; Starter quiz with answers. Nutrient cycle diagram analysis with answer. Biotic and abiotic diagram analysis labelling task with answers. Plant and animal adaptations using images and written tasks with answers. Exam focus question. Answers are included with some of the tasks.

  3. What do you get in the package: The lesson is planned in detail and all of the resources for teaching the lesson are included in the ppt; starter, learning activities with all resources, clear outline of learning tasks and a plenary. Students however, should be encourage to use their standard GCSE text book as background reading. Now just download and teach!
