This lesson gets students to consider that whilst we may appreciate the problem we face with plastics in our oceans, tackling the problem is not straightforward given how dependent we are on plastics in everyday life. The resource includes:

  • a PowerPoint to guide students through the task. There are also notes on how the lesson might run.
  • a document that provides a prompt for how some everyday objects typically made out of plastics could be substituted using other materials.
  • a homework task
