Reading, Memory and Spelling with the 'Qu' Sound

Activity One: Read the words- picture clue included and sound highlighted to support decoding

Activity Two: Read a simple text that contains gaps. Fill in the gaps with the correct ‘qu’ word from activity one. Write the word into the gap if spelling practice is also required.

Activity Three: Look at a grid of images that contains ‘Qu’ words, in addition to other words that do not contain a ‘qu’. Try to memorise the position of the ‘qu’ words. Highlight the position of the images on a blank grid (from memory). This will support memory by spatial relationships.
