Lesson 4 of a KS3 unit of work on religious journeys. This lesson links to the previous lessons and the future lessons. This lesson aims to teach students about places of pilgrimage in Judaism (Western Wall) and Hinduism (River Ganges). This lesson is packed with lots of different activities e.g. questioning, reading, small video clip, word fill, map reading. There is also A02 opportunities for students to create their own prayer/wish/statement to take on their own pilgrimage. The lesson offers opportunities for students to apply their learning to tasks. Cross curricular links within the lesson (e.g. Geography). Also, students are able to make comparisons to other places of pilgrimage in order to join up their learning. Links to GCSE topics on pilgrimage and religious expression.
