This fun and original assembly aims to help children learn the importance of demonstrating self-control, through understanding that:

-Controlling our actions helps us make positive choices, even when we feel tempted to do something else.
-Controlling our emotions helps us stay calm, kind, and respectful, even when we feel angry or upset.
-Controlling our focus and effort helps us keep practicing and trying, which allows us to improve and achieve great things over time.

This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people.

The assembly contains a wide range of engaging material, including engagement with thought-provoking videos, interactive activities, consideration of different scenarios that children may find themselves in which test their self-control, and examples of well-known people who have demonstrated integrity.

There is enough material to lead a 35-40 minute assembly here, but you can trim bits as required if you are looking for something shorter. It is suitable for children across the primary phase.

The slides are comprehensive and relatively self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!
