Dystopian Fiction KS3 SOW

At least 22 lessons, examining a range of Dystopian fiction extracts. I reading assessment (language question) and 1 creative writing lesson that can be used as an assessment. Texts include: The Maze Runner by James Dashner, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood, Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, The Chrysalids by John Wyndham, and The Long Walk by Stephen King. Resources Include: * Lessons on themes, tension, characterisation, analysing language and structure, evaluation, and many more. * A range of activities for each extract * Repeat questions for each lesson linked to the lesson prior * Discussion tasks * Annotated quotes in each lesson * Model paragraphs * Key context lessons * A variety of creative writing activities and tasks * Reflection/plenary activity for each lesson * Questions inspired by AQA English Language Paper 1 Section A * This unit could easily be adapted for use with KS4.
