These time-saving shuffled shape boards include 20 different boards, each showing shapes arranged in a different random order.
The boards are clear, simple, and ideal for EYFS and KS1 learners who are developing early shape recognition, vocabulary, and visual discrimination skills.
Teachers can simply print and laminate the boards to use repeatedly for starters, group work, maths stations, or quick intervention activities, helping to save valuable preparation time while keeping lessons engaging.
The boards can be used in many ways across the classroom.
Children can cover shapes with counters as the teacher calls them out, or work in pairs taking turns to find and cover shapes.
They can also colour specific shapes, search for large or small shapes, or follow simple instructions such as “find the large circle and colour it red.” The boards also support directional learning, as some shapes are facing left, right, up, or down, allowing teachers to give instructions such as “find the triangle pointing left” or “cover the oval shape facing up.”
Teachers can also link the activity to shape vocabulary around the classroom (circle, triangle, rectangle, oval). Because each board is shuffled differently, the activity stays fresh and can be reused many times for a variety of fun shape-learning games.
