These 6 weeks of lessons on Islam are planned according to the Surrey agreed Syllabus but could work for anyone who is introducing Islam to 4-7 year olds.

I planned these lessons so not to overwhelm young children in KS1 who may have just been introduced to Islam with details such as the life of the prophet and how Muslims follow him or the details of the teachings of the Quran or importance of the five Pillars as it is too complex at this stage. One can build on these onwards from Year 2 expanding the lessons with individual lessons and suitable activities lessons on the prophet, the Quran and eventually the Pillars of Islam. I slightly cross references the introduction of the importance of Allah and the 5 pillars to PHSE in case these can be related to self care and aspirations for improvement of one self.
This is a simple introduction to introduce the Muslim faith to children in Reception to Year 1 and in some instances to Year 2. You can build on and edit to your needs.
