Mira 4 Verde: Module 1: Vocabulary Matching Exercises (Foundation)

Mira 4 Verde: Module 1: Vocabulary Matching Exercises (Foundation)

These simple yet versatile matching exercises are made from the vocabulary used in module 1 of Mira 4 Verde. They can be used as starters, extensions, plenaries, homework and revision. They are also great for measuring progress when used as a starter and a plenary in the same lesson. They can also be colour-coded / traffic lighted to provide instant feedback as well as a focus for assessment revision. I always let pupils choose whether they want to write the answers in in English or the Target Language. Matching with lines never works! I have had great feedback from pupils when using them and hope you will too. Please let me know if you find typos / mistakes.

Mock the Week-style 'What's the Question?' grid

Mock the Week-style 'What's the Question?' grid

Use this to practise asking questions. In presentation mode, your answers will show in each square. Challenge pupils to work out what the question could be. I award one point for any relevant question they come up with and 2 points if they correctly guess the question I came up with. Simply clicking on the square with your answer reveals your question.

GCSE Spanish verb drill tables - Preterite, perfect, imperfect and pluperfect tenses

GCSE Spanish verb drill tables - Preterite, perfect, imperfect and pluperfect tenses

Starter activity for GCSE Spanish 10 different sheets to print out and laminate. Gap-fill on front, answers on back. Separate sheets for regular and irregular verbs. This resource is a work in progress and I plan on adding more in the future based on the different verb tenses covered in the new GCSE specification. The idea is for it to work as a starter activity and encourage independent work: 1. Students pick a card (difficulty level is highlighted at the top) and start to work by filling in the gaps with a dry-wipe marker. 2. Students refer to the GCSE Higher Spanish book (Oxford University Press) as much or as little as they need, either to read the instructions for the tense or grammar point first to refresh their memory or to refer to it as they do the activity. 3. Students self-assess their answers from the reverse of the card. 4. Students refer to the 'checklist' at the bottom with questions to prompt them, and note down any new verbs, endings, spellings etc in their books. I plan on using this resource as a routine starter activity for one lesson a week. I hope that students will gain in confidence in conjugating verbs across tenses; these resources are designed to focus on one tense at a time, so over time students can self-select which tenses they need to practise and revise. I welcome your feedback on this resource!
