Pupils attempt the 'Alien Missions' (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) to not only prepare them for Science at KS3 level but also to inspire them to enjoy Science and understand that Science is comprised of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The Biology mission is a research based task, whilst the Chemistry and Physics missions contain practical aspects. The final page of this project is then an assessment of the 3 missions pupils complete (using Blooms taxonomy - state, describe, explain).

At the beginning of each topic, provide KS3 classes with a wordsearch containing all of the keywords for the upcoming topic - this saves pupils writing them out in the glossary as they can stick the A5 wordsearch into their book.
