These A4 differentiated word vocabulary mats are an essential tool for any child and would be perfect laminated and stored in boxes in the middle of the table. The mat focuses on writing a persuasive advert. The mat gives helpful sentence starters for the beginning, middle and end of the advert as well as possible adverbs and adjectives that could be used. There is also an example of a persuasive advert that the children can use to uplevel or improve their own piece of writing. The attached images show each mat but each pack includes: Mat 1 for the less able pupils (one A4 sheet) Mat 2 for the middle ability pupils (one A4 sheet) Mat 3 for higher ability pupils (on A4 sheet) Mat 4 - an example of a model persuasive advert (could be laminated back to back with one of the above mats) The resource is colourfully designed with the colours linked to the language through colour system. However any child can use these mats regardless of whether they are using this system.

This 58 slide PowerPoint is the perfect revision tool for the KS2 literacy curriculum In total 17 different types of puncutation are covered with each term covered over at least two slides. Slide 1 - a multiple choice quiz where the term is given and the children have to then choose from four possible definitions. Slide 2/3/4 - the correct definition is given. This is then followed by an activity for the children to complete which will consolidate their understanding of the type of punctuation. Depending on the type of punctuation, some have the definition and activity on the same slide whilst others covering 3 separate slides. Terms covered - apostrophe, brackets, bullet points, capital letters, colon, commas, dash, direct speech, elipsis, exclamation mark, full stop, hypen, indirect speech, paragraph, question mark, semi colon, speech marks, The punctuation types are listed in alphabetical order meaning they are quick to locate and use as and when appropriate. This resource is perfect for that little and often revision and can either be displayed on the interactive whiteboard or given to pupils to work through on their own devices. Contributed by one of our resource makers, Michael Spalton, this is a fantastic resource for Year 6 pupils.

A great mental maths resource which is perfect for the beginning of the lesson and for revision in the build up to SATs. However what makes these loop cards different to other packs is that they are differentiated, meaning that all the children in the group/class can be challenged or participate in the activity. This pack of loop cards are differentiated three ways and are indicated by a traffic light. Red light - designed for the more able children in the class/group Yellow light - designed for the middle group in the class Green light - designed for the less able children in the class/group Once the class or group have completed the loop card activity once, why not time them to see if they can complete the 'loop' in a faster time. Each child could keep the same card or they can be rotated between groups. TOP TIP - After printing, why not laminate so that you have a resource which can be used over and over again? Included in this set are 32 loop cards which include the type of questions usually encountered in the Mental Maths SATs test. This Teach, Practise, Extend PowerPoint resource focuses on factors, prime numbers and prime factors and is linked to the Year 5 National Curriculum.
